Instructions & Helpful Tips for Tracking a show
Create a playlist in Spotify and populate with songs
Arrange the songs in desired playout order
Ideal playlist length is slightly under 1 hour. Use this as a guide, not a hard rule.
Copy the Link to the playlist (See RED circle in the Spotify image for “Copy Link to Playlist” location)
Send the playlist link(s) to the email audio@hometeam.fm
For shows that are multiple hours create separate playlists for each hour and share the link for each hour individually.
If your want to include songs that are not available on Spotify please denote this information in the email referenced below.
Record “Voice Tracks (VTs)” for your playlist. Voice track constitute your recorded voice: song intros, outros, song or artist comments, etc. Generally anything you want to add about the song or artist and/or any other pontifications.
VTs have no structured order. Some examples may include : Song Intro (musing) > Song > Song > Song outro (musing) + Song Intro > Song > Song > Song outro (musing) + Song Intro > Song …
If you are not using a home or professional studio to record spoken word, you can use your phone to record your voice tracks as voice memos.
The most important thing to consider is that your voice memo app saves the file as an actual audio file. WAV, MP3 are common examples.
A decent free app is DOLBY ON
Search for DOLBY ON in Google Play (for Android) or the Apple Store (for iPhones)
Send Voice Tracks links or attach audio files in email to audio@hometeam.fm
Share them through a file sharing program such as: Google Drive, Dropbox or We Transfer
Email links for audio from file sharing sites OR attach audio files to email.
